First snd foremost, nice scope. I have one too and could not be happier. I hunt with mime frequently so 3X on the bottom is better for me. That, and >20X has never been a big thing for me, I just don't shoot well with that much magnification.
My first question would be to the guy that bore sighted. Did the windage move when he bore sighted?
Next, who installed the scope? Were the rings installed with a torque wrench or just tightened? It is possible the rings are causing the internals to bind. That said, my scope seems incredibly tough, rings would have to be superman tight, I would think, but I have seen this before. And how close are the rings to the center saddle?
Next, get a true bore sighted (attached to the barrel, stationary at the muzzle) and make an adjustment while looking through the scope, you should be able to watch the reticle move in relation to the bore sighter.
Let me know.
A picture of the setup would also be helpful.
Rest assured, if something is wrong with the scope, Vortex will take care of you!
