Subject: Vortex Viper HSLR 4-16x44?

Greetings all, I am new to this forum but a long time hunter. I currently have a Leupold VX-3 CDS mounted on my Rem. 700 SPS, SS, 300WSM. This 700 has been [pillar bedded along with glass bedding the action, recoil lug bedded and the first 2" of the bbl. bedded along with free floating the bbl. The rifle is a very good hunting rifle that has enabled me to take many, many big game animals these past years. My dilemma is that this Leupold VX-3 has been knocked off elevation zero twice in the past. Just this last April I/we were in RSA and the scope was 8" high at 100 meters. This is unacceptable. My thoughts have been to trade or sell this VX-3 and replace it with a Vortex Vioper HSLR in 4-16x44. My VX-3 has been returned to Leupold twice now to have the elevation erector assembly replaced. At this point I have little or no confidence in this Leupold. What think you all? Thanks in advance for the input. MTG
