In my opinion, yes.   You would be much better off with the 2.5-10x44 when it comes to hunting in the bush.  You may want to consider going even lower.  I would keep the minimum power range to the max of 3x.  The lower the power, the faster the target acquisition.  Saying that you are hunting in the bush implies that shots could literally be off the end of your barrel.  The last thing you want to do when you have a record book size bull within 30 or 40 yards is having to search for the vitals at 6x, if you have it turned down all the way, when you only have a split second to make the shot.  By the way, not to state the obvious but never walk around in the bush with your scope cranked above its lowest power.  Another consideration is that if you are in moose country then you are in brown bear country.  Your life could very well depend on how quickly you can acquire your target and pull the trigger.
