Rifle Scopes : SS Eye Relief Question

Looking to mount a scope on a 308 700 HB. Considering the SS 10x42. Spec says eye relief is 4" but one reviewer says he measured it at 3.25". Has anyone actually measured the eye relief on this scope ?
