So, I'm fairly new to optics and was hoping to get some suggestions on what scope to buy.
I'm looking for a scope for my Remington 783 which shoots .270 win.... Previously, I had a Tasco on it which ultimately, could not handle the recoil and was destroyed. Being young, and in school, I don't have a lot of money to spend so I'm really just looking for the cheapest optic that fits my needs/wants and will not self destruct after 25 rounds like the Tasco....
This might sound picky but, I would like a scope that looks nice on my gun. The 783 is a decent sized and fairly heavy rifle so, I'm wanting something that doesn't look undersized but, since I'm trying to go cheap, I know I might not have a choice. I do most of my shooting with this rifle at 100 and 200 yards but, occasionally it sees 50 and 300 so, I would like something with variable magnification.
Most importantly, I need something that won't break and is under $200 and even better around $100... For me, the cheapest option that works is the best. I was looking at a Firefield 10-40x50 which says in the description is made for centerfire rifles but, durability seems questionable based on the price and reviews I've read.
Thanks for any feedback.
