Hello All.  Just joined because I find many of these discussions helpful and I respect the collective wisdom shared on Opticstalk.  Would like your opinion.  Have a new Sako 85 Hunter stainless in 30-06.  Need a scope.  I'm no expert and don't have any high-end scopes now, but like the rest of you I'd like the best quality I can get for my money.  Best scope I have currently is a Leupold VX6 2-12x42 mounted on a CZ 300 win mag.  Would like to get better glass without going beyond $1,000.  I'm inclined toward Leupold (I live about 15 miles from Beaverton, OR), but there are so many great reviews of Meopta Meostar scopes I feel pulled between them.  Here in Washington State we can find ourselves in thick woods as well as long shots, and I'm mostly into taking deer, elk, and black bear.  The Meostar R2 1.7-10x42 looks like it would be perfect.  It's difficult (though not impossible) to find here in the states.  Unfortunately, that scope is beyond my $1,000 budget, but I may bust the budget for that scope if y'all think it would be worth it.  Is it worth it, or should I stick with a Leupold?  Thank you in advance for your assistance, I appreciate it.
