![]() If you don't believe that the Meopta is the superior glass over a Nikon or a Leupold (unless it is VX-6) put you an eye chart in low light and compare both brightness and resolution. I used to do comparisons with objects like buildings trees,etc. But when I started testing with the eyechart , I learned a whole lot more about the optical quality of a scope. |
Slow your roll, Friend. I'm not talking JUST "glass quality" here. The poster cited "swamps...deep hollows..over grown farms" Sounds like my AO.
I suggested the VX-R due to the fact that it has the Fire Dot reticle, which I believe can be a factor when hunting in low light/heavy brush scenario's. It's honestly, (IMO) one of the best illuminated reticles in it's price range available today.
To your point..he say's he needs to be able to quickly ID bucks, so maybe superior glass trumps reticle here. But, I think the glass on the VX-R, while not "dazzling" is good enough. It's certainly worth a look.
